Tarting up a plain cardi...

I bought a standard navy cardigan from H&M but it was far too plain for me. I thought some white lace or ric rac would look great and lucky for me my local fabric shop had just enough lonely white jumbo ric rac left on a spool!

I pinned, pinned and pinned then I sewed the ric rac onto the cardi using really long stitches.

I went really slowly because I didn't want to stretch the fabric out under the trim.

I think it looks pretty good, and it only really too five minutes.

I tried to do it on my old, cheap sewing machine but it just stretched the cardigan out and it looked rubbish. My new shiny Brother is the bees' knees!

I might have to do some more cardigan and jumper sewing!
